Make Your Skin Shine With Hydro-Microdermabrasion

  • Exfoliates, Hydrates and Cleanses for Smooth Skin Tone
  • Can Tighten Pores to Reduce Prevalence of Blackheads
  • Improves Collagen Production to Reduce Fine Lines

The DOC Clinic offers the latest technology in hydro-microdermabrasion to Melbourne patients. Known as hydro-microdermabrasion, the treatment combines the techniques of mechanical, product- and liquid-based hydro-microdermabrasion. We also offer ultrasonic skin treatment options to help repair and renew skin.

Using the powerful effect of water through water jets, a hydro-microdermabrasion treatment targets the outer layer of skin to exfoliate and reveal a smoother, more even texture. Our therapists utilise the award-winning Bio Hydroderm Trinity.

The benefits of hydro-microdermabrasion using this technology can include freshening the appearance and texture of the skin, as well as increasing the absorption and penetration of active ingredients into the skin. A hydro-microdermabrasion facial can even be ideal for rejuvenating the skin for one-off special events such as weddings. The treatment can also be combined with other peel and laser treatments as part of a complete skincare regime.

Hydro-Microdermabrasion Treatment Length

An average hydro-microdermabrasion treatment should take 15-45 minutes*. It is recommended that you have a course of treatments to continue to stimulate collagen growth, helping to improve the appearance and texture of your skin. Patients can return to their normal daily activities immediately after treatment.

FAQ

Can Hydro Dermabrasion Reduce the Appearance of Lines and Wrinkles?

Yes, hydro dermabrasion can be an effective treatment for signs of ageing such as lines and wrinkles. The treatment exfoliates the surface of the skin while infusing it with hydration, helping to reduce wrinkles and give skin a more youthful appearance.

Can Treatment Reduce Congested and Enlarged Pores that Lead to Blackheads?

If you’re suffering from enlarged pores that are frequently becoming congested and causing blackheads to develop, hydro dermabrasion may be a suitable solution. In addition to causing blackheads, enlarged pores can also be unsightly, leading many to seek treatment to reduce pore size. Fortunately, hydro dermabrasion can tighten pores, minimising their appearance and helping to prevent future development of blackheads.

Is Treatment Suitable for Oily or Acne-Prone Skin?

Yes, hydro dermabrasion can be performed on oily and acne-prone skin. In fact, treatment can help to improve acne and reduce production of oil by deeply cleansing and hydrating the skin.

Can Hydro Dermabrasion Help with Hyperpigmentation?

As it gently exfoliates the skin, hydro dermabrasion can help to improve the appearance of hyperpigmentation by evening out complexion and smoothing skin. This can lead to a reduction in dark patches of skin, age spots, sun damage and other forms of hyperpigmentation.

What Does a Hydro-Microdermabrasion Treatment Involve?

The Bio Hydroderm Trinity device used for hydro-microdermabrasion at our Melbourne clinics has created a new standard in comfort when it comes to hydro dermabrasion treatment. Much like an ultrasonic skin treatment, it is relaxing, gentle, and completely comfortable.

The Bio Hydroderm Trinity enables The DOC Clinic to perform the most progressive new service in wet/dry hydro-microdermabrasion acne treatment, wrinkle treatment, and more. It incorporates a clear plastic rounded tip that glides over the surface of the skin, effortlessly abrading the skin and vacuuming the impurities away within the loop system, without causing trauma.

The style of solid abrasive discs, essentially flat and round in shape, are embedded with industrial diamond or corundum crystals. These discs allow for an expedient and consistent skin exfoliation. This new technology in hydro dermabrasion treatment also means the consistency is no longer reliant upon the technician’s pressure of the device on the skin.

The system used for our hydro-microdermabrasion in Melbourne gently vacuums the skin to lift it towards the abrasion disc. The discs have strategically placed holes to allow for skin hydration fluids to finish the exfoliation process as well as providing cooling and hydration to the skin surface.

The hydration fluids used in the process can be distilled saline or water that has been infused with minerals and vitamins, making it a suitable option for those with highly sensitive skin.

What After Treatment Care Is Required?

One of the major hydrafacial benefits is the lack of downtime. Skin will be slightly pink afterwards, but results may be visible immediately. With less swelling and minimal redness, the water fully hydrates and moisturises the new exposed skin layer, helping to remove years of built-up dead skin and impurities. Cold compresses can assist on the rare occasion that redness continues for a day or if sensitive skin around the eye area becomes swollen.

A hydro-microdermabrasion facial is usually painless and doesn’t irritate the skin greatly. A few patients may experience some slight tightness and redness of the skin, which may last for an hour or two following treatment. Treatments using peel products may prolong any redness, however.
