Wrinkle Treatments In Melbourne

At The DOC Clinic, there are several non-surgical options for the management of wrinkles and related concerns. Dr Omarjee offers consultations to discuss individual circumstances and possible treatment approaches. Some non-surgical options may be considered for concerns such as neck bands or changes in facial shape. These approaches can vary and will be discussed during your consultation, along with potential risks and aftercare considerations.

Disclaimer

All treatments require a formal consultation with Dr Omarjee prior to any treatment. During this consultation, patients' concerns are carefully assessed, and a personalised treatment plan is developed. This includes discussing the nature of the proposed treatment(s), alternative treatments, potential risks and relevant complications, aftercare instructions, and the costs involved. It also allows time for patients to ask questions.

What areas can be treated with wrinkle treatments?

Non-surgical options are available for managing wrinkles and related concerns. Below we have outlined some of the areas that may be discussed during a consultation, along with how wrinkle treatment options may be considered depending on individual circumstances.

Glabella (Lines Between the Eyebrows)

These treatments may be considered for addressing lines that appear between the eyebrows.

Lines at the Outer Corners of the Eyes

These treatments may be considered for addressing lines that appear at the outer corners of the eyes.

Forehead (Frontalis)

These treatments may be considered for addressing lines that appear across the forehead.

Upper Nose Area (Nasalis)

Lines may appear on the upper nose area, and these can be addressed with wrinkle treatments depending on individual circumstances.

Eyebrow Area (Orbicularis Oculi)

Changes can occur in the eyebrow area over time. Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this region.

Upper Gum Area (LLSAN)

The upper gum area may be affected by the activity of the lip elevator muscle, known as the levator labii superioris alaeque nasi (LLSAN). Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this region, depending on individual circumstances.

Lines Around the Mouth (Orbicularis Oris)

The lines that radiate outwards from the lips, either above the upper lip or below the lower lip, are sometimes referred to as perioral lines. Multiple factors can influence the development of these lines, such as sun exposure, dental changes, or smoking. Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this area, and other options such as laser-based procedures may also be discussed during consultation, depending on individual circumstances.

Mouth Corners (DAO)

The corners of the mouth are called the oral commissures. Over time, changes can occur in this area. Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this region, depending on individual circumstances. This can involve approaches that address the muscle known as the depressor anguli oris (DAO), a muscle that extends from the lower jaw to the corners of the mouth and contributes to pulling the corners of the mouth downward.

Chin (Mentalis)

The chin involves a dynamic muscle called the mentalis. This muscle is active in movements of the lower lip and chin. Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this region, depending on individual circumstances.

Jawline

Changes can occur in the jawline area over time. The muscles that can influence this region include the mentalis, depressor anguli oris (DAO), platysma, and depressor labii inferioris (DLI). Wrinkle treatments or Emface may be considered in this region, depending on individual circumstances.

Masseters

The masseter muscles are located on the lower sides of the face and play a key role in chewing. In some individuals, these muscles can become enlarged (hypertrophy), which may contribute to changes in the shape of the lower face. Wrinkle treatments may be considered in this region, depending on individual circumstances.

Axilla

Hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweating of the armpit (axilla), is a condition where the sweat glands produce more perspiration than is needed for normal body temperature regulation.

Facial Lines

Lines can appear on the face over time as part of the natural ageing process. Areas where these may develop include between the eyebrows, around the eyes, on the upper lip, and across the nose. Factors such as ageing, sun exposure, and everyday facial movements can all play a role in their development.
At The DOC Clinic, consultations are available to discuss non-surgical options that may be considered for the management of facial lines.

Forehead Lines and Eye Wrinkles

Lines around the eyes may develop due to factors such as ageing, sun exposure, smoking, or repeated facial movements. These factors can contribute to the formation of lines that appear at the outer corners of the eyes.

Non-surgical options such as Emface, Exion RF and Exion Face may be considered for managing lines in the forehead and around the eyes, depending on individual circumstances. Results can vary between individuals.

Neck Bands

Located under the chin is a muscle called the platysma, which extends from the upper portion of the chest to the lower jaw and part of the face. The platysma can present as vertical bands in the neck area. Over time, these bands may become more noticeable due to natural changes in the skin and underlying structures. Non-surgical options may be considered for the management of neck bands, depending on individual circumstances.

What Are My Other Options For Wrinkle Treatment?

Topical treatments such as Emface, Exion RF and Exion Face are available at The DOC Clinic for specifically targeting wrinkles and other signs of ageing. We can recommend skincare products from our Toskani range, to either help encourage the effects of your wrinkle treatment, or as its own stand-alone regimen. Ask more about Toskani skincare products at your wrinkle-treatment consultation.

What are the Risks?
