Skin Tightening
Changes to the skin are a natural part of ageing, and lifestyle factors can also play a role in how the skin looks and feels.
Energy-based technologies, including lasers, radiofrequency, and ultrasound, are commonly used in aesthetic practice. At The DOC Cosmetic & Skin Clinic, we use the Fotona Dynamis system in selected skin treatments. This platform offers a range of treatment modes, including the T-Runner handpiece, which can be tailored as part of an individual treatment plan.
Disclaimer
All treatments require a formal consultation with Dr Omarjee prior to any treatment. During this consultation, patients' concerns are carefully assessed, and a personalised treatment plan is developed. This includes discussing the nature of the proposed treatment(s), alternative treatments, potential risks and relevant complications, aftercare instructions, and the costs involved. It also allows time for patients to ask questions.

Treatment Process
Before starting Fotona skin sessions, you will have a consultation at The DOC Clinic. This is where you can discuss your concerns and treatment options. Dr Ed Omarjee will assess your skin to determine whether this approach is suitable for you.
During the session, the T-Runner handpiece is passed over the treatment area to deliver controlled laser energy to the skin. Patients may feel warmth in the area. Recovery experiences differ, and any aftercare will be explained to you during your visit.
The number and timing of sessions can vary between patients. A treatment plan will be discussed individually, based on your needs and circumstances.
Fotona Skin FAQs
Are there discomforts associated with the treatment?
Patients may notice a warm sensation or mild discomfort as the energy is applied. Experiences differ, and any concerns can be discussed with your Dr Omarjee before treatment.
How should I prepare for treatment?
On the day of your appointment, it is recommended that you avoid having open wounds or active breakouts in the treatment area. It is also best to stop using products containing active ingredients, such as retinoids, for about a week before the treatment.
Which areas can be treated?
The Fotona T-Runner handpiece can be used across a range of face and body areas, including the cheeks, lower face, neck, upper arms, abdomen, and thighs. Suitability will be confirmed during your consultation.
What are the possible side effects?
Temporary swelling, redness, or skin sensitivity may occur after a session, and these effects usually resolve within a few days. Irritation, such as small bumps or rashes, may also occur. Other possible effects include infection, burns, or pigmentation changes.
Who can consider this treatment?
Patients who are interested in a non-surgical option to address concerns about changes in skin appearance may consider this treatment. Suitability is assessed on an individual basis during a consultation at The DOC Clinic.
When might changes be noticed?
Skin responses vary. Some patients notice changes earlier, while for others it may take longer. Dr Omarjee will discuss what to expect based on your treatment plan.
How many sessions might be recommended?
The number of sessions needed can differ between patients. A series of treatments may be discussed, with timing and frequency tailored to your individual needs. Follow-up sessions can also be considered as part of your ongoing plan.
How much does it cost?
Costs vary depending on the treatment area and the plan developed for you. A medical consultation at The DOC Cosmetic & Skin Clinic is required before treatment, where your skin will be assessed and pricing discussed.

Medically relevant consultations usually are eligible for a Medicare-specific refund. (Cosmetic consultations are not Medicare eligible.)
